Delaware Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
Program Description
The Delaware Energy Assistance Program (DEAP) is a Federally funded program for low-income families that need help in meeting their costs of home energy. The Division of State Service Centers (DSSC) administers this program on a contractual basis with Catholic Charities, Inc. The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), under the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), provides funds. DEAP services provide assistance to income eligible families to help them meet their home energy needs.
General Program Requirements
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the State of Delaware, you must need financial assistance for home energy costs and your household's annual income before taxes must not exceed $18,620 if one person lives in the household; $24,980 if two people live in the household; $31,340 if three people live in the household; $37,700 if four people live in the household; $44,060 if five people live in the household; $50,420 if six people live in the household, or $56,780 if seven people live in the household. For larger households, add $3,180 for each additional person in the home.
