Tennessee Weatherization Assistance Program
Program Description
The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) is 100% Federally funded through a grant from the Federal Department of Energy. The program provides funds to the States to assist with the weatherization of the homes of low income elderly and disabled adults and families. The program is administered through contracts with an established network of 19 non-profit agencies and local governments experienced in providing weatherization services. WAP services are available in all 95 counties. Applicants must meet low-income eligibility guidelines based on established Federal poverty guidelines. Activities include: insulation, storm windows, caulking, and other related activities to reduce home energy costs and increase home energy efficiency.
General Program Requirements
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the State of Tennessee, your household's annual income before taxes must not exceed $11,638 if one person lives in the household; $15,613 if two people live in the household; $19,588 if three people live in the household; $23,563 if four people live in the household; $27,538 if five people live in the household; $31,513 if six people live in the household; $35,488 if seven people live in the household; and $39,463 if more than seven people live in the household.
