Program Description
Idaho offers the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) so your children-infants to teens-may qualify for health insurance at no cost to you. CHIP provides insurance to working and non-working families. It allows you-parents, grandparents, and guardians-to get the health insurance coverage your children need and deserve.
General Program Requirements
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of Idaho, under 19 years of age or be a primary care giver with a children under the age of 19, not covered by health insurance (including Medicaid), a US national, citizen, legal alien, or permanent resident, and you must have an annual household income before taxes of less than $13,966 if one person lives in the household; $18,736 if two people live in the household; $23,506 if three people live in the household; $28,276 if four people live in the household; $33,046 if five people live in the household; $37,816 if six people live in the household; $42,586 if seven people live in the household; $47,356 if eight people live in the household; $52,126 if nine people live in the household; $56,896 if 10 people live in the household; $61,666 if 11 people live in the household; $66,436 if 12 people live in the household; and $71,206 if more than 12 people live in the household.
