Kansas Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP)
Program Description
The Kansas Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) is a Federally funded program that helps eligible households pay a portion of their home energy costs. Benefit levels vary according to the following factors: 1) Household income, 2) number of persons living at the address, 3) type of dwelling, 4) type of heating fuel, and 5) utility rates.
General Program Requirements
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the state of Kansas, you must need financial assistance for home energy costs and your household's annual income before taxes must not exceed $12,104 if one person lives in the household; $16,238 if two people live in the household; $20,372 if three people live in the household; $24,506 if four people live in the household; $28,640 if five people live in the household; $32,774 if six people live in the household, $36,908 if seven people live in the household; or $41,042 if eight people live in the household. For larger households, add $4,134 for each additional person in the home.
