Rhode Island Low Income Home Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

Program Description
The Rhode Island Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a Federally funded program through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. LIHEAP is an assistance program designed to help low income households with home heating costs.

General Program Requirements
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the state of Rhode Island, you must need financial assistance for home energy costs and your household's annual income before taxes must not exceed $21,979 if one person lives in the household; $28,742 if two people live in the household; $35,505 if three people live in the household; $42,268 if four people live in the household; $49,031 if five people live in the household; $55,794 if six people live in the household, or $57,062 if seven people live in the household. For larger households, add $1,268 for each additional person in the home.
