A Program To Help Traumatized Victims Start Anew
Victims of domestic violence, stalking, or sexual assault can seek refuge
Are you running for your life because you’ve become terrified by a particular disturbing social behavior? If you don’t know where to turn for help when things get out-of-hand and you feel like you have to start fresh, avail of the Transitional Housing Assistance.
This aid is available to minors, adults, and their dependents who have suffered trauma from exposure to extreme social behavior like domestic violence, dating violence, sexual offense, and stalking and needing a home, wherein other emergency and intervention services are unavailable.
Funds are allocated to cover operating expenses for transitional houses, rental or utilities payment assistance and for other related expenses, and support services like securing permanent housing and community integration.
The housing assistance is limited to 24 months. 6 months extension can be given if the beneficiary has made a good effort to acquire permanent housing or was unable to secure one.
Eligible applicants are States, Indian tribal governments, local government agencies, non-profit or non-government organizations, and other organizations specialized to give social protection services to similar victims.
