Find Funding For Your Invention
Get government support
Are you an inventor but don't have enough funding for your invention's research and development, patenting, marketing and manufacturing?
The Small Business Administration (SBA) can give you free referrals to financial resources, as well as assistance and technical support for starting a business. SBA also offers three online publications that focus on inventors and their inventions. You can get more information about this by visiting their website, www.sba.gov, or by calling them at 1-800-U-ASK-SBA.
You can also try tapping into private companies or organizations in your area that may be able to point you to where you can get financial resources, or even to fund your invention.
It's also very important for inventions to be patented, and that's where the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) comes in. They provide free information on the patent and trademark process, forms, fees, and other services.
The information they give is not only free, but also easily accessible. Automated messages are available to frequently asked questions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through their toll-free number 800-PTO-9199 or 703-308-HELP. If you prefer to check online, you can go to: http://www.uspto.gov.
