GovSales.gov is the official government portal where you can buy government property online. It lets you buy or bid on surplus, seized, forfeited and exchange/sale assets at very low starting prices. Bargain hunters can find a treasure hoard of great deals there. Believe it or not, there are gadgets, clothes, even cars that start at $10.00!

Approved Federal Agencies sell property through the GovSales.gov portal. The auctions are open to all citizens who are 18 years old and above. Federal Government employees may also participate, but only to a certain extent.

The site will require you to register before you can start bidding on auctions. You'll be asked for your personal information, Social Security Number (SSN) and credit card information. Your card will not be charged; they'll just check if the information you enter is valid. As you go along the registration steps, you will receive reminders to enter only valid information--which is advisable because you'll be entering into a transaction with the government.
