Helping the Poor find Better Jobs
The JOLI program focuses on bringing jobs and making a difference to America's needy.
For many low-income individuals, getting a job that can provide them with financial stability can be one of the most challenging and frustrating things to accomplish. With job vacancies as scarce as they are now, poorer people have to compete with thousands of other candidates who may be better qualified for a particular position, making job hunting a more difficult pursuit than ever.
Candidates with a low-income background are less likely to have a lot professional experience or academic merit to bolster their applications, a fact that might seem all too discouraging for them as they try to plot out their careers. Thankfully, however, the government offers opportunities for low-income individuals to get gainful employment, carve out their own careers, and stimulate economic growth in the long run.
The Job Opportunities for Low-Income Individuals (JOLI) program, for example, was designed to bring about new jobs and career openings for needy Americans. Funding for the JOLI program is often coursed by the government through various non-governmental or faith-based organizations in a state, and is targeted at individuals whose salaries are at a level that the state identifies as "low-income".
Apart from being assured of employment, individuals who benefit from the JOLI program are also slated to receive direct financial aid, which can take the form of revolving loan funds. To get more information about this program, contact the Office of Community Services in your state, or inquire at the Administration for Children and Families in Washington, D.C.
