Let the State Fix Your House for Free!
Federal aid can foot the bill on repair costs for your home.
Has your roof been leaking all these years, giving your family more than enough headaches and misery to last them a lifetime? Is your plumbing unreliable, and does your porch look like it would crash to the ground if you so much as stepped on it? If these problems continue to plague you and you don't have the money to pay for repair costs (or even for food on the table), then worry no further: the government is all too happy to help you fix your home!
Through the Housing Preservation Grants program, the state can provide you with funds for repairing your place of residence, whether it be an individual house or a rented property. It doesn't matter, too, if you actually own or rent the place; what the program will look into is your annual income; the Housing Preservation Grants program is designed for households or individuals with very low or low income levels whose housed are in dire need of immediate repair or rehabilitation.
If you're a property owner and you rent out specifically to individuals or families from the low-income bracket, you're also qualified to receive funding through the program. The assistance varies, and funding can take the form of a grant, a loan, an interest reduction on commercial loans, or other similar methods of aid. Members of a cooperative who own property are also qualified to apply for this program. Want more information on how the Housing Preservation Grants program can help you? Contact your local Rural Development office, or forward your questions to the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C.
