Maintenance For Near-Disabled Employees

A program to keep the potentially-handicapped conditioned to do their job

How exactly can we help nearly-disabled people from having a full-blown disability? Maintain or better their states by offering services that will keep them from being completely disabled.  And that’s exactly what the project grant named Demonstration to Maintain Independence and Employment does.

Since these people have different living conditions compared to us, some of them may need an extra hand and may depend on other people for certain tasks.  This affects both their non-professional and professional lives.  Benefits like cash assistance and medical care, administered by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), are given to these individuals so they can continue their work and maintain the lifestyle they are accustomed to.

This program is open to all States. Beneficiaries should be employed, within 16 to 64 years of age, and have specific, potentially severe physical and mental impairments recognized by the State which are considered to lead to blindness or disability.

For relevant information, proceed to www.cms.hhs.gov or call CMS at 410-786-3870.
