Don’t know where to turn? Information is right under your fingertips. Visit the Eldercare Locator website. It’s a free resource locator of the Administration on Aging designed to aid the elderly and their families find proper state agencies and/or community-based organizations specializing in providing elderly care services. The aim is to help these older adults live independently and happily in homes and communities.
Information like home care location, securing meals, and transportation for the elderly are available. Education programs are also provided to caregivers.
Guides, know-how’s, publications, links to aid organizations, information on common elderly concerns, and information about the managing and affiliated agencies can be obtained from www.eldercare.gov/eldercare/Public/Home.asp. Their toll-free number is 1-800-677-1116, available from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (EST), Monday to Friday. If you’re calling from outside of U.S. territories, dial 1-301-419-3900 and ask for Eldercare Locator line. There are 150 available languages for line services.
